Melt-blown nonwovens are mainly used as composite materials, filtration materials, thermal insulation materials, sanitary products, oil absorption materials and clean cloth, battery diaphragm, etc., widely used in such fields as medical and health, automobile industry, filtration materials, environmental protection and so on.
As shown in the figure, melt-blown nonwovens are mainly used as two-step SMS materials, medical and health materials and wrapping materials in foreign countries. In addition, they are also important for wiping materials, absorbing materials, filtering and blocking materials.
1.Medical protective equipment
Because melt-blown fabric and spunbond fabric composite material has high hydrostatic pressure resistance, has good air permeability and filtering effect, especially with the film composite material, has good barrier performance, the filtering effect of non-oily particles can reach more than 99%.
For example, the medical protective clothing made of 60-100GSM composite material can effectively block microorganisms, particles and fluids, and have a good protective effect on SARS virus and HIV virus.
2.Materials used for air filtration
Melt-blown composite materials with electrostatic polestriming treatment have the characteristics of low initial resistance, large dust capacity and high filtration effect when used in air filtration, which are widely used in electronic manufacturing, food, beverage, chemical industry, airport, hotel and other places of air purification treatment.
Filter devices for various air conditioning equipment, high performance medical masks and filter bags can also be made of this material.
3.Materials used for liquid filtration
Melt-blown nonwovens can also be used as liquid filtration materials, which can filter particles of 0.2-10μm in size. Such as bacteria, blood, and macromolecules. It is mainly used in the filtration of photosensitive anti-corrosive agent in the electronic industry, the filtration of drugs, biology and synthetic plasma products in the pharmaceutical industry, the filtration of beverage, beer and sugar slurry in the food industry, the precision filtration of electroplating liquid, the filtration of water purification, the filtration of tap water purification, the filtration device of electrolytic water hydrogen production, and the filtration of environmental wastewater.
PP melt-blown nonwovens with hydrophilic properties can be used to make cell phone battery diaphragm.
4.Heat preservation material
Polypropylene fiber is the variety of existing fiber materials with the lowest thermal conductivity. After special treatment, melt-blown thermal wadding made of PP fiber has 1.5 times the thermal performance of down and 1.5 times that of ordinary thermal cotton. Especially suitable for making ski clothing, mountaineering clothing, bedding, sleeping bag, thermal underwear, gloves and shoes, etc. The 65-200 GSM product has been used to make warm clothing for soldiers in cold regions.
5.Oil absorption material
Because PP fiber has a good hydrophobicity, low density (0.91 GSM), water absorption rate is low (0.01%), moisture regain rate is 0.05%, with oil insoluble and acid and alkali resistance and other stable chemical characteristics, is a very good oil absorbing material. The oil absorption of melt-blown nonwovens produced from PP raw materials is 15-17 times of its weight, and the water absorption is 0.07-1 times of its weight. It has the characteristics of fast oil absorption, long-term floating on water after oil absorption, and can be reused. It is the most commonly used rare material at present.
6.Wipe and industrial materials
Melt-blown fabric is also an excellent wiping material, which can be used for cleaning and wiping precision instruments and equipment, and can also be used as a wiping cloth for family life. In order to prevent fiber falling off during use and affect the use, low temperature hot rolling process is often used to increase the surface strength of melt-blown cloth.
Melt-blown cloth is an excellent sound insulation and buffering material, which is widely used in construction and automobile manufacturing.
