How To Apply Calcium Carbonate in Non Woven Fabric Production By Nonwoven Machine?

2023-09-11

Zhejiang Yanpeng Nonwoven Machinery Co., Ltd is a professional manufacturer specializing in the research and development of non-woven production lines. Since from the beginning of 2008, we always focused on non-woven field. Until today, we served over 200 customers at home and abroad, and installed more than 600 non woven production lines all over the world.

Our main products include: PP spunbond non woven production line, meltblown non-woven production line, spunmelt composite nonwoven production line (such as SMS,SMMS, SSMMS, SMMMS …etc), Polyester (PET) non woven fabric production line etc. We successfully launch the PLA/RPET non woven fabric production line in 2021.

The main component of limestone is calcium carbonate, which after processing becomes our common quicklime and slaked lime. Limestone is mainly divided into five categories. Limestone with different properties has different uses. It is an indispensable raw material for various departments of the national economy and people's lives.

1. Application of heavy calcium in non-woven fabrics
The main material used in the production of masks is non-woven fabric
The main materials for producing protective clothing are plastics, breathable films, etc.
One of the important materials for the production of non-woven fabrics, plastics and breathable films is heavy calcium carbonate powder

PP filling masterbatch made of calcium carbonate is widely used in the non-woven fabric industry. As an important raw material for mask accessories, it has better application prospects after the epidemic, which has led to an increase in the use of calcium carbonate in the non-woven fabric field.

2. What is Nonwoven Fabric?
According to the European Disposable Products and Nonwovens Association (EDANA), the world's most important and authoritative nonwovens organization, nonwovens should be defined as fibers, filaments or treated fibers that can form a network, and can Nonwovens are materials that are bonded together and do not include woven, woven or knitted fabrics. Almost all nonwovens are technical textiles. Nonwovens have broken through the traditional textile principles, and have the characteristics of short process flow, fast production speed, high output, low cost, wide application, and multiple sources of raw materials.
Non woven fabric is fabric that does not need to be woven. It is a fabric made of short fibers or filaments that are naturally arranged into a whole through a special manufacturing process, and is also called non woven fabric. It is air-permeable, light-permeable, moisture-proof, mildew-proof, durable, and environmentally friendly. It is widely used in many areas of society. PP non woven fabric is a non woven fabric made of polypropylene. There are many non-woven fabrics, and pp non woven fabrics are equally versatile and are used in many areas of society!

The production process of pp non woven fabrics generally includes melting, spinning, etc. The production process is not complicated, relatively simple, low production cost, low price, of course, because there are still many brands of pp non woven fabrics, the price is still very different, and some productions The process is cumbersome, the technical requirements are high, and the cost is high. In addition, the geographical location of the manufacturer is different in the consumption environment, and the profit pursued by the manufacturer is different, which leads to the difference in the price of this kind of non-clothing. This pp non woven fabric has a wide range of uses in medical and health, printing, packaging, clothing, automobiles, agriculture and other fields, and the variety of patterns and colors is amazing.

The patterns and colors of pp non woven fabrics can be fashionable and bright, classic and solemn, playful and lively, etc. In short, it can meet various purposes, Such as use in aerospace, building materials, etc. In agriculture, it can be used as a cover film on greenhouses, fruit plants, etc., for heat preservation, frost prevention, insect prevention, sun protection, etc. It can be used as a variety of interlinings on clothing. Because this kind of non woven fabric is environmentally friendly and has a short degradation time, it is widely used in agriculture. After being used up, it is placed in the ground to let it weather and be absorbed by nature. It takes at least 300 years for ordinary plastic products to degrade.

3. How To Apply Calcium Carbonate in Non Woven Fabric Production?
During the production process of non-woven fabrics, calcium carbonate powder is generally added to save costs and increase the weight or hardness of the fabric. A number of domestic calcium carbonate enterprises have seized the market opportunity, practiced their internal skills diligently, and mastered the core technology of producing calcium carbonate powder for non-woven fabrics and special calcium carbonate filler masterbatch, fully embracing the development climax of the global non-woven fabric industry.

Calcium carbonate powder generally uses calcite as the masterbatch, which has good fluidity, low oil absorption value, high whiteness and few impurities.

Due to the particularity of the non-woven fabric industry, when using calcium carbonate to fill modified non-woven fabrics, the requirements are as follows:
1. The particle size and distribution of calcium carbonate should be appropriate: non-woven fabrics generally use d97≦3um~d97≦6um calcium carbonate powder, followed by d97≦5um~d97≦10um calcium carbonate powder, and the largest gram weight Non-woven fabrics (gram weight ≧100g/m2) can use calcium carbonate powder of d97≧10um. Some powder factories sort out fine powders below 1um (easy to agglomerate) and control coarse powders above 250 mesh to control excessive fineness and The particles are too coarse, so that the calcium carbonate powder has a good distribution; the particle size distribution of calcium carbonate is narrow, and the preferred particle size is 4 to 8um.
2. Moisture: general requirement ≦0.5%;
3. The addition amount must be strictly controlled and not too much, otherwise it will affect the tensile strength; the formula in the special calcium carbonate filling masterbatch can add 40% to 70% calcium carbonate if the process is good.
4. The dispersion is better.
5. The higher the whiteness, the better; the general requirement is that the whiteness is ≧90%, and the whiteness of high-quality calcium carbonate powder can reach more than 95%.
6. The reference value of oil absorption value≦20-23g/100g;
7. In some special products, the purity of calcium carbonate should be high, the content of compounds of elements such as silicon and iron should be low, and the content of harmful heavy metal elements should be stricter.
8. The powder quality must be stable to ensure the stable quality of non-woven masterbatch and non-woven fabrics.
9. Calcium carbonate powder is generally modified with titanate coupling agent, aluminate coupling agent and low molecular toughening coupling dispersant.
10. However, it should be noted that during the processing of non-woven fabrics, if too much calcium carbonate is added, the non-woven fabric will become thinner.
At this time, the process must be adjusted. During the processing of non-woven fabrics, there is a phenomenon that the cloth surface is not shiny, which has a certain relationship with the process. White oil can be added to increase the brightness.
