How to choose auxiliary materials(Color masterbatch)for nonwoven fabric production?

In nonwoven production line, commonly used auxiliary materials (additives) include color masterbatch, functional masterbatch, filler, etc.
In spunbond nonwoven fabric production line, color masterbatch is the most commonly used auxiliary material. Color masterbatch is also used in meltblown nonwoven fabric production line, but its technical requirements are much higher than in spunbond system.
Color masterbatch is an auxiliary material for coloring polymer, so its coloring ability is an important technical and economic index.The coloring ability refers to the amount of masterbatch to be added in order to prepare a certain target color product. It is usually expressed by the weight percentage of the added amount in the product (generally provided by the masterbatch supplier). The coloring ability of the masterbatch is not only related to the nature of the pigment and the proportion of the active ingredients, but also related to the dispersion degree of the pigment.



Technical indexes of common color masterbatch products:
1.Grain size: φ 2mmx3mm~ φ 3mmx4mm, uniform in size, no more than two continuous grains are allowed, and the quantity ratio of two continuous grains shall not be higher than 0.2%.
2.Appearance: the surface is bright and clean, the color is consistent, and there is no color difference.
3.Heat resistance: not lower than ISO 220 ~ 300 ℃ (PP).
4.Melt flow index: 1 ~ 125g / 10min (for spunbond system).
5.Pressure filtration value (DF value): not higher than 1.0 (PA · C ㎡ / g) or expressed by filtration value, and its value is not higher than 0.15kg / (C ㎡ · min).
6.Lightfastness: Grade 5 ~ 8, the greater the grade, the better.
7.Migration resistance: Level 5. The higher the level, the better.
8.Dispersity: less than 1 μ M (Grade 5), good dispersion.
9.Moisture content: less than 0.4%, the less the better.
10.Ash content: less than 0.02%, the less the better.
11.No pungent smell, meeting the requirements of food hygiene standards or FDA requirements.
12.Dosage: 0.5% ~ 5%. It is determined according to needs. The less the dosage, the lower the production cost.
