Hydrophilic is a common treatment method for nonwoven fabrics. Generally, nonwoven fabrics are water repellent. According to the demand, the manufacturers carry out pretreatment or post-treatment on nonwoven fabrics, and these two treatments directly affect the hydrophilic effect. Today let me bring you the difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment of hydrophilic non-woven fabrics. I hope it can help you!
First of all, non-woven fabrics are water repellent, hydrophilic non-woven fabrics and water repellent non-woven fabrics are opposite. Because the non-woven fabric itself is not hydrophilic, it is necessary to add hydrophilic masterbatch or add hydrophilic oil to improve the hydrophilic ratio of the hydrophilic non-woven fabric, that is to improve the hydrophilic performance.
Hydrophilic non-woven fabric is characterized by the ability to absorb water, that is, hydrophilic ratio, hydrophilic speed, hydrophilic times, hydrophilic period of validity and times. In order to improve the hydrophilicity of non-woven fabrics, it is generally to improve the surface wettability to achieve the goal of hydrophilicity. At present, the manufacturing methods of hydrophilic non-woven fabrics can be mainly through physical modification and chemical modification: blending modification (i.e. before spinning) and surface modification (i.e. after spinning).
1.Blending modification (modification before spinning)
According to the different adding time of modified additives, it can be divided into masterbatch method, full granulation method and injection method before spinning.
1. Common masterbatch method
This is an important method for non-woven manufacturers to produce hydrophilic non-woven fabrics. Hydrophilic masterbatch was made from common hydrophilic additive by masterbatch manufacturer, and then blended with PP to melt spinning fabric, namely hydrophilic non-woven fabric.
Advantages: simple production, no need to add any equipment, and suitable for small batch production. In addition, its hydrophilic persistence is strong.
2. Total granulation
Hydrophilic PP particles were prepared by screw extrusion granulation, and then melt spun into cloth.
advantage; Good processability, durable effect, cloth can be used repeatedly.
3. Injection before spinning
The hydrophilic polymer was directly added into the main screw of non-woven fabric and mixed with PP melt for direct spinning.
Advantages: long lasting effect, cloth can be used repeatedly
2.Surface hydrophilic finishing (modification after spinning)
Hydrophilic finishing is a simple, effective and low-cost method to make hydrophilic non-woven fabrics. The main technological process is as follows:
On line spunbonded hot-rolled non-woven fabrics -- roll coating or spraying hydrophilic agent -- infrared or hot air dryer -- winder -- hydrophilic finishing non-woven membrane.
Advantages: no spinnability problem, fast hydrophilic effect, high efficiency and low price of non-woven fabric, which is 1 / 2-1 / 3 of the cost of common masterbatch method. Suitable for mass production.
