As a new type of green and environmentally friendly fiber, PLA fiber is different from traditional cellulose fiber and chemical fiber, but it has the advantages of both fibers:
On the one hand, its raw materials, like cellulose fibers, come from natural plants; On the other hand, PLA fibers have the same superior fiber properties and processing properties as chemical fibers, with various effective functions and relatively stable melting points. At the same time, they can also be made into various functional PLA fibers as required for special occasions
1. Polylactic acid clothing fabric
Make full use of the advantages of polylactic acid fibers, such as their similar physical properties to polyester/polyester, they can be shaped, have good strength, have good dimensional stability, do not stimulate the skin, and are easy to wash and dry. You can also develop unique clothing fabrics by changing the process and adding other materials during spinning to make polylactic acid fibers have functional properties, such as moisture absorption and sweat elimination, and UV protection.
Sports and leisure clothing - DTY low elastic silk knitted fabric (POLO shirts, T-shirts, etc.)
Underwear - interwoven and blended, changing the tradition of not using polyester fibers in underwear, making underwear more conformal and safer.
Children's clothing - non allergic, skin friendly, and flame resistant, is one of the elements of modern children's clothing.
2. Application of polylactic acid in the field of home textiles
Fillers for quilts, pillows, etc.: Represented by hollow polylactic acid staple fibers, they can be pure PLA or mixed with other fibers to replace existing polyester related fillers. (The picture on the right shows the batting of PLA/kapok)
Bedding fabric (interwoven, blended, etc.): It can give full play to its advantages of good skin affinity, non irritating skin, and non allergenic properties, overcome the shortcomings of polyester/cotton fabrics, and have better dimensional stability than cotton fabrics, which are easy to wash, dry, and take care of.
